Twickenham United Reformed ChurchLocal and national church and church-related sitesWe are closely linked with Hampton Hill URC and our minister, Rev Jenny Snashall, serves both churches. We work very closely with or neighbouring churches, Holy Trinity Church, Twickenham Baptist Church and Twickenham Salvation Army Whitton Baptist Church, Teddington Baptist Church and Kingston United Reformed Church are all near us. As a United Reformed Church we are part of the world wide family of churches that make up the Council for World Mission You could also see the Latest News from Ecumenical News International. We are actively involved in supporting the Jubilee 2000 campaign to cancel unpayable Third World debt. A number of members took part in the London rally on June 13th 2000. Each year we collect from local homes and take part in street collecting for Christian Aid Week. During Christian Aid Week 2008 we collected £3,605: thanks to everyone who gave so generously. Each year as part of our harvest celebration members are asked to give 1% of their income in support of Commitment for Life's work in Zimbabwe - in 2006 we collected £3,815. We also support the Trade Justice Movement and an number of our members took part in the Mass Lobby of Parliament on November 2nd 2005 We support the work of the London City Mission and the Bible Society . Each June our Communion offerings are given to the London Catalyst (formerly known as the Metropolitan Hospital-Sunday Fund) We are a corporate member of the United Nations Association, Twickenham and Richmond Branch (UNA) and over the years several of our members have served as branch chairman. At a branch meeting held in our church hall on March 16th 2003 Jeremy Gilley spoke about the United Nations International Day of Peace - September 21st each year.
